Meet some of the children living in the Village
|
Amon and Rachel are brother and sister and are lovely kids. They are being raised by theirgrandmother, after their parents died from AIDS. They are both at primary school and have been supported since the project's outset. Amon lost an eye while playing.

Bruce is 4 years old and is a little scamp! The family relies on the mother as the father is out of work. With Bruce attending the nursery it will free up his mother to spend more time at the women’s agricultural syndicate she set up.

Christine’s mother is HIV+ and deserted her, so Christine is under care. After completing her primary school education at 14, it was likely she would have gone into early marriage. She came to us bright and alert saying she had an ambition to be a nurse and asked if she passed her final exams, would we help her through secondary school education? It started with familar words "I have a dream...". She passed and we’re helping!

Comfort was there on day one of the nursery opening. Her mother was deserted by the father and she looks after Comfort and 6 of her siblings. Comfort was not receiving any education prior to the project.
|
Sandra is 4 years old and was there on the first day of the nursery opening. Her parents are poor and are living positively with AIDS. This is a rare opportunity for Sandra.
